Aconcagua 5th January 2019

Adventure Peaks 5th Jan 19 Aconcagua Team

Aconcagua expedition departed 5th January 2019

Leader: Iain Bisset

21st January

Summit Success for Another Adventure Peaks Aconcagua Team. Iain sent a text this evening to say that Maria, her guide, Ian, Matt, Adam, Seth and Iain all reached the summit today. Chris made a great effort reaching 6700m but decided to return to camp with Maxi.

20th January

Iain sent a text through this evening to say that Ian, Maria Seth & Iain made a carry to Camp Colera on Satrurday and that the team are now all established at Camp Colera and aiming to make their summit bid tomorrow. The winds are still looking to be on the high side which will make it that bit more challenging for the team, which appears to be the story for everyone on Aconcagua this season, with small windows of opportunity to grab between the stormy conditions.

14th January

Some pics from the team at base camp and progressing to Camp 1.

8th January

The team arrived into Mendoza on the 6th Jan, all present and correct… except for Ian H’s kit bag. It eventually turned up 12 hours after Ian had to make the decision to hire kit. After arranging permits and food shopping the team travelled up to Penitientes yesterday. Today they started their 3 day journey into base camp
