1st January
Happy new year from all of us at Camp 1 on Aconcagua! Were experiencing high winds so we will have an extra day at Camp1. The wind is due to drop so we are aiming to to head for Camp Colera on the 3rd January and will go for our summit bid on the 4th January. Both groups are feeling good and are resting.
2nd January
Both of the teams have now arrived at a busy and lively Camp 3. Everyone is feeling a bit tired so we’re making brews and relaxing now. Tomorrow we move up to Camp Colera for a summit push on the 4th.
4th January
Its been a busy time on Aconcagua for the 2 teams and we have had some brief updates come in over the Sat phone. Mark has called to say summit success for six clients: Craig, Bhavesh, Mark, Martin, Gavin and Nick with leaders Mark, Flavio and Maxi.
Also, Giles has reported on his team clients Gareth, Alison, Jerome and Alex made it to various points between Camp Colera and The Cave – a brilliant effort by all on a serious mountain. They are heading to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp on Monday and Mendoza thereafter for well deserved r&r.
Well done to the summit team, hope you all get down safely
Well done to everyone today, especially proud of Gavin! Only worry is where he'll want to go next!!
Good luck Gavin, hope you get a weather window - look forward to hearing how it all goes
