Aldwickbury School have arrived in the Lake District for another walking trip exploring the best of the fells and lakes.
On Friday we headed up from Ambleside to Dove Crag and down via Scandale Beck.
Saturday brought the sunshine and with it the heat! The group enjoyed walking up two lesser known Wainwrights, Sour Howes and Sallows, located between Troutbeck and Kentmere. An obligatory game of summit ninja followed and we were treated to views down to Windermere and across to the nearby fells.
On Sunday we had a fantastic day of activities including kayaking on Lake Windermere and ghyll scrambling in Great Langdale. The perfect way to cool off in this heat!
Monday’s plans were adapted in view of the heatwave and we had a great day out on a Lake District classic walk of Blencathra via Hall’s Fell Ridge.
