15th May The team are now back safe in Kathmandu. They were hit by a lot of snow crossing the pass and decided to make a couple of long walks from the Amphulapsa back to Lukla.
10th May The team made their summit bid but depspite their best efforts were thwarted by the weather. All other teams left base camp a couple of days ago, having been unsuccessful on the mountain. The team are now down at base camp and have decided not to make any further summit attempts. After resting at base camp they will make their journey back to Lukla via the Amphulapsa.
4th May All the team are now back down at base camp resting. They have slept at camp 1 and climbed up to camp 2. They will now rest for a few days before heading up for the summit push. They are initially looking at 8th May as their first possible summit attempt.
2nd May Lee, Richard, Stephen, William, and Sean summited Mera Peak, Nigel stayed at high camp. Everyone was fit and well back at base camp on the 30th April, taking a rest day on the 1st May. They planned to head up to Baruntse camp 1 today (2nd May). Well done team!!!
27th April Sean called in this morning. The team are now at Mera High Camp and all are well. The weather is very changeable with clear sky until 10 am and then snowing in the afternoon. The plan to make the summit attempt on Mera Peak tomorrow.
21st April Sean called in today to say they have just gone over the Chatra La and are on schedule to arrive at the Mera La on the 24th. The team are all well and enjoying the trek to Mera Peak.
15th April Nigel will arrive in Kathmandu this evening, the rest of the team will depart tomorrow arriving in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Sean James Sean is a technical 5.14 climber with extensive experience on the north faces of the Alps. He has previously lead and summited Broad Peak and Spanitk in Pakistan team. Other notable ascents as expedition leader includes the technical peaks of Ama Dablam, Khan Tengri, the East ridge of Mount Logan and Dych Tau in the Caucasus mountains in addition to many less technical peaks including multiple ascents of Cho Oyu, Aconcagua and many of Nepals ‘Trekking Peaks’. He has currently completed five of the ‘Second Seven Summits’ and is well motivated to climb K2 and Mt Tyree to be the first British Mountaineering to complete the seven.
