After many months of waiting for the extremely frustrating process of obtaining permission to climb Damavand to conclude, as well as gaining the visas for Iran. The team have finally arrived and the group of seven clients are now well on the way to climbing Asia’s highest volcano at 5610m.

4th August
The group have successfully climbed the Mount Touchal as part of their acclimatisation. They are now back to Tehran and  at lunch time will be transfer to Damavand basecamp.

12th August

Fantastic news…. summit success from behind the often closed doors of Iran.

Our first expedition to Mt Damavand was a great success with the team summiting this 5610m volcano on Tuesday morning. Damavand is a beautiful symmetrical volcanic peak, the highest in Asia and one of the volcanic 7 summits (the highest volcano on each continent). Anna did a great job back in the Adventure Peaks office to break down the bureaucracy of Iran and our local team were superb in providing a good acclimatisation programme on a neighbouring peak before tackling Damavand and reaching the top of one of the more unusual summits visited by few western climbers. The group are now enjoying a tour of Tehran
