11th July
Jordan has sent through a message from the summit of Toubkal this morning, congratulations to the team!
They had a puppy follow them up the mountain, who they named Toubkal. It’s been a great day and they are now looking forward to showers!
9th July
The team are now on their way to Imlil, where they will then trek up to Aremd. Tomorrow they will trek up to the Mouflon refuge, their base for the next peaks. Jordan also sent some pictures through from their ascent of Mt Goun.
7th July
Jordan has sent a message this morning from the top of the team’s first 4000m peak, Mt M’Goun! Great work everyone! They have been following the trail through the valley and have even enjoyed a swim in a waterfall. Yesterday they camped at the plateau of Tilibiyt N’Tarkeddit near to the refuge so they were looking forward to hot showers! They will camp here again tonight before retracing their steps back down the valley to Agouti over the next couple of days.
3rd July
Welcome to Morocco! Everyone has arrived safely in Marrakech and after a briefing and kit check the group headed down to the medina for a tasty tagine. The square was buzzing with people watching a concert so it’s been a great introduction to the cultural flavour of Morocco. Tomorrow morning they will set off for the central High Atlas to start their trek towards Mt M’Goun.
Morocco’s 4 x 4000m Peaks Challenge tackles the four highest summits in Morocco in 10 days! On this challenge we will be aiming to make ascents of the four highest summits in the High Atlas Mountains, all over 4000m, culminating in the highest, Mount Toubkal at 4167m. Three of the peaks are conveniently close together in the Toubkal National Park just 70km south of Marrakech. However to ‘bag’ the fourth summit we have to travel to the central High Atlas to find Mt. M’Goun.
Jordan is well travelled and has been on many expeditions and treks, including, Mera Peak, Island Peak, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Morocco, Everest base camp, as well as experience working in the Middle east. Having completed a degree in Outdoor Leadership he is well accustomed with all avenues of the outdoor industry. Jordan can often be found either guiding in the lake district or climbing on the local crags.
