15th April

Congratulations on reaching the summit of Mount Toubkal 4167m!

We received an update from Jude this afternoon, back in Marrakech having had some delicious lunch in the square and everyone was off exploring the souks.

It’s been a really good trek with 9 of the team making it to the summit of Toubkal on Saturday. The group split into a faster and slower group on the way up but as it was a lovely day the first group waited on the way down so they all walked down together back to the Refuge. Everyone did really well especially as this trip was their first time using crampons. In true guiding style to celebrate they sang guide songs for 2 hours yesterday and played several rounds of mafia! They will fly home on Tuesday.

12th April

Now at the Refuge at the base of Mount Toubkal, the team are preparing to head up to the summit in the morning. Today they walked from Aremd up to the base, with a relaxed hour lunch stop and some skills practice on the way.

11th April

Jude called this afternoon to say that the group are now at Aremd and everyone is doing well. They enjoyed the sunny walk up and over the pass of Tizi n Tamatert and even found a geocache on their travels! The weather is looking clear and bright for the next few days, with the snow level starting above the Toubkal refuge.

10th April

The group arrived in Marrakech yesterday and spent the afternoon exploring Marrakech’s souks, followed by a meal overlooking the main square Jemaa el-Fnaa. They have met their guide Mohamed and are all set for their adventures as they leave for the mountains this morning.
