SUMMIT SUCCESS We received a message on the answerphone in the early hours of this morning to say that Zac, Michael, Paul and Leigh summitted on 30 November
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM AND TO PAUL TAYLOR FOR COMPLETING HIS SEVEN SUMMITS!!
7 December – The team are now back at Punta Arenas and enjoying hot showers and a little bit of comfort before their flights home.
5 December – Another call from Zac to say they are still at Patriot Hills waiting for their flight. There may be a gap in the weather in about 24 hours which will enable them to fly to Punta Arenas and he will keep us informed. The team are chilling out and in good spirits.
4 December – Zac left a message to say the team are now back at Patriot Hills, having had a three day delay due to a weather storm. Next stop – Punta Arenas.
3 December – SUMMIT SUCCESS We received a message on the answerphone in the early hours of this morning to say that Zac, Michael, Paul and Leigh summitted on 30 November. James Ravine decided not leave High Camp, although he is well. They had made a previous summit attempt the day before which had taken around 18 hours and in which they had reached within 200 metres of the summit. They are now waiting at Vinson Camp for their flight back to Patriot Hills. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM AND TO PAUL TAYLOR FOR COMPLETING HIS SEVEN SUMMITS!!
26th Nov – The team are now back down at Camp 1. They will have a rest day tomorrow and then move up to Camp 2 on the Friday in preparation for making their summit bid.
25th Nov – Message this morning to say that the team are all at high camp, all going well.
24th Nov – The team have been at halfway camp and are moving up to High camp. Everyone is still strong and the weather is fantastic. The team now have a big stash of equipment and food at camp 1 which has allowed for a lighter load carry today. If the weather remains on their side, then there is a possibility of heading straight up.
23rd Nov – Zac phoned to say the team are enjoying stunning weather conditions making progress to date very good. They plan to move up to High Camp tomorrow from where they will wait to make their summit bid, depending on weather conditions. Everyone is well and feeling strong.
22nd Nov – The team have arrived at Vinson BC, all the team are feeling good and glad to have made such good progress. They were able to fly straight to base camp after arriving at Patriot Hills. The group intend to have a trip up towards Camp 1 tomorrow.
17th Nov – Zac made contact from Santiago to say that all was well so far. They have one more flight to reach Punta Arenas.
16th Nov – The team flew out to Punta Arenas today starting their long journey to Antarctica and Vinson Base Camp
