Mount Belukha Expedition

Departed 4th August 2018

Leader: Di Gilbert

16th August

SUMMIT SUCCESS! Di has called in this morning to say that the whole team reached the summit of Mt Belukha (4506m) at 6.00am this morning. They are all doing well and are now resting back at the very warm Saddle Camp (3800m). They will take a helicopter back to Base Camp tomorrow. We look forward to hearing more and seeing some photos!

15th August

We’ve had an update from Di to say that it’s been a challenging expedition so far with 5 nights spent at Tomski camp with Biblical rain! The team are in very good spirits though and they are currently at Saddle Camp and they plan to go for the summit tonight. The landscape is amazing, and there’s now no rain, no wind and lots of fresh snow but as there are a few teams at camp there will be lots of man power to break through the trail tomorrow.

5th August

The team have arrived in Barnaul. Wondering where Mount Belukha and the Altai mountains are? Have a look at the map below.
