We needed to allow time for ‘the dust to settle’ before being sure we would actually be able to operate our planned Nepal Earthquake Appeal Trek and Climb this autumn. Our agent in Kathmandu has now confirmed that the access roads are open and that the people of Langtang welcome tourists (and their money!), so its all systems go. Our appeal fund has reached a total of over £3000, and is still open for more donations as Nepal, especially Langtang, still needs a lot of financial help.

We believe that encouraging trekkers and climbers to return to Nepal will help the economy even more that charitable donations. Unfortunately the UK Foreign office is not helping by continuing to advise ‘against all but essential travel’ to many areas. However the British Mountain Council is offering insurance cover to these regions.

So here is a chance to help Nepal by signing up for our one-off trip to Langtang and boosting our appeal fund at the same time. You can trek up this beautiful valley, make an (optional) ascent of Yala Peak [5520m] and help the local people with some rebuilding. Places are limited so we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.
