Pablo has called to say the team arrived back in Mendoza last night after their successful summit bid on the 11th February. They have a few days to relax and explore Mendoza, before their flights home on the 18th Feb.
All being well Pablo will send some pictures through later today.
Pablo has messaged to say: Today the team have practiced crampon use and rested at C2. The weather forecast is looking excellent, so tomorrow we move to C3, with a plan to summit on the 11th.
The team have been acclimatising at base camp. They have made their ascent of Colorado Peak and also made their carry up to Camp 1. Now they are ready to start progressing up Aconcagua.
Anna has sent some photos through of the views they've had so far on their journey to base camp.
After arriving into Mendoza on the 29th Jan, Pablo and the team made their final preparations and obtained their permits before making the 4 hour drive to Penitentes. Today the group will start their 3 day trek to Plaza Argentinas, base camp on the Vacas valley side of the mountain.
Pablo is a climbing and ski guide, living and working in Argentina. He works on our Aconcagua expeditions, but has also led expeditions for Adventure Peaks to Pastore Peak in Pakistan, as well as Annapurna IV & Island Peak.
