29th December 2024 - Summit Success For The Team

Carrie has messaged to say that the team reached the summit of Aconcagua yesterday and returned back to Camp Cólera between 10:30 and 11:30 last night.

Trish decided to stay at camp with Carrie, happy with making the 360 traverse, Maike made it to the cave before deciding to head down and the rest of the team made it to the summit. It was a long day for them especially with having to break trail in the fresh snow. Today, they will drop down to Plaza de Mulas, The base camp in the Horncones valley.

27th December 2024 - At Camp Colera

Carrie has called in from Camp Cólera the top canp. At the moment the weather has closed in, but it is forecast to clear through the night ready for the teams summit bid tomorrow.

25th December 2024 - Merry Christmas!

The team are now at Camp 3 Guanacos, the second camp on the mountain and they have their mini decorations up. They wish everyone at home a very Merry Christmas.

21st December 2024 - Time at Base Camp

Christmas has come early for the team while at base camp. Todoay they made their first carry to Camp 1 as part of the acclimatisation. Sachin has also taken some amazing night time shots from base camp.

19th December 2024 - Arrival at Base Camp

This afternoon the team arrived at base camp, home for the next couple of days. Sadly when they got to base camp a few of the team found out that one of the horses had fallen over in the river crossing, the horse was fine, but some of their kit bags, that were sent ahead, had got wet. Carrie's kit was the worst affected, but she's now drying out all of her high altitude equipment.

18th December 2024 - On The Way to Base Camp

Yesterday, the team started their three day trek to base camp. They arrived into Pama de Lenas, the first camp on the trek, at 3:45pm local time. Tomorrow, they will trek to Casa de Piedra and will hoepfully be rewarded with their first views of Aconcagua.

16th December 2024 - All arrived safe and well in Mendoza

The team and their luggage have arrived. Last night we had a lovely dinner and the team are learning just how big Argentinian steaks are, and enjoying some ice cream!!

This morning we are doing a kit check then we travel around 4 hours to penitenties

12th December 2024 - All set

The trip departs on the 14th of December.
