Aconcagua Horcones Valley 25th January 2025

7th February 2025 - Summit Success

The team have reached summit of Aconcagua and are now descending back to camp cólera

The team reached the cave below the Canaletta at midday today. They are now on the final approach to the summit, all being well they should reach the top in the next hour.

This morning at 4:30am local time the team made thier start for the summit from Camp Colera. So far they have made good time to White Rocks and we will keep monitoring their progress through the day.

31st January 2025 - Carry to Camp Canada

Yesterday, the team made their first carry above base camp to Camp Canada at 5000m.

29th January 2025 - Team Arrival at Base Camp

Today the team trekked to Plaza de Mulas, base camp on the Horcones Valley side of the mountain.

25th January 2025 - South America Here We Come!

The team will be departing today for Argentina. They will make their final preparations and obtain their permits before heading to Penitentes, the start of the trail for Aconcagua base camp.

Stu Peacock is a very experienced high altitude mountaineer who has been to the Summit of Everest, Broad Peak, Cho Oyu, Manaslu and climbed on K2. His other expeditions include: Ama Dablam, Annapurna IV, Peak Lenin, Aconcagua, Khan Tengri, Tien Shan Unclimbed, Korzhenevskaya, Himlung Himal, Baruntse, Mera & Island Peak, Alpamayo, Bolivian Peaks, Spantik, Carstensz Pyramid, Elbrus, MtArarat, Mexican Volcanoes, Mt Kenya and Kilimanjaro. He was the first Brit to summit Everest via the North Ridge 3 times and has climbed Everest from both the North & South sides.
