One of the team sent through an update of their journey so far and a few more pictures.
The trail out of Camp 1 was initially a steep pull on loose rock. Towering overhead was the Polish glacier and the very summit of Aconcagua. Still a long way to go 😳
On reaching the bealach between Cerro Ameghino and Aconcagua we were rewarded 👀 north of a spectacular snowy Andean 🏔️ vista.
Cerro Ameghino (5,950m). We crossed the bealach; the small notch on the right hand side. Amazing scenery. Beautiful day 😃
Today the team carried up to camp 2- Gunacos.
Today the team are making their first carry to Camp 1 at 4900m and will return back to base camp this afternoon.
Yesterday, the team arrived at Plaza Argentinas base camp (4200m). They will spend the next couple of days resting, acclimtising and making a load carry to Cmap 1 (4900m).
The team sent through some picture they are now at Casa de piedra, there was a thunder storm just as they got to camp but it clear now and hey have had their first views of Aconcagua. The tents are all set up and they are waiting for dinner.
Yesterday the team had a great first day on the trek to Pampa de Lenas. Today they head to Casa de Piedra where they will get their first glimpse of Aconcagua.
