David, Fergus, Ian and Simon successfully summited Carstensz Pyramid early this morning.

Setting off from base camp at 2am, to reach the summit ridge by 5am in time for sunrise, then continuing on to reach the summit a 7am.

The weather was perfect, no wind, only a little cloud with the stars clearly visible in the patches of clear sky, warm, with phenomenal views from the top.

The team are all now safely back at base camp enjoying some well earned rest, before looking to take the first available helicopter back to Timika.
