Carstensz Pyramid 9th March 2025 Expedition News

14th March 2025 - Summit Success on Carstensz Pyramid
At 7:20am local time Robin & Rick reached the summit of Carstensz Pyramid. They were the only team to climb it this day, depsite it being the best weather in quite a while. They were back in base camp by 10:30 am. I believe this is the completetion of the 7 summits challenge for Rick.
13th March 2025 - Acclimatising at Base Camp
Today, Rboin & Rick have been taking things easy, while getting adjusted to the altitude, and exploring around base camp.
12th March 2025 - Arrival at Base Camp
Robin and Rick have made the relatively short flight from Timika over the gold mine and into Carstensz base camp.
9th March 2025 - Heading to Indonesia
Robin & Rick are making their way to Timka. They will arrive into Western Papua on 11th March, where they will make their final preparations before helicoptering to base camp, providing the weather is clear.

Robin is an IFMGA and British Mountain Guide, and was involved with Adventure Peaks’ Alpine courses from their inception. He has led professional and private expeditions to South America, Africa, Indonesia, Central Asia, Antarctica, the Arctic and the Himalaya. He has summitted Everest as a guide for Adventure Peaks, together with 6 clients and 5 Sherpas. Robin is a regular Adventure Peaks leader, and recently successfully led our first expedition to Lhotse.
