Congratulations to the Team – Summit Success!
The team are in Lukla and we’ve received many great photos to show you and a more detailed update. The team set off for the summit at 4.am on a lovely granite wall and then on to a mixed route as the sun came up. Three of the team summited taking around 5 hours to the top and 3 back down. Marek made the decision to turn around after the first pitch but he was pleased with this choice and very happy with his experience on Kyajo Ri and the wider expedition.
Arturo says the Sherpas were great at fixing and securing the route. There was also great support from our porters, guides, cooks and kitchen staff.
After the descent they stayed at high camp and rested before the long descent back to Namche. The weather is good and they are set to fly back to Kathmandu tomorrow.

Arturo has sent a message from Namche Bazaar
All well here! Today we had our acclimatisation walk to Everest View Hotel where we had astonishing views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Everest with clear skies. The afternoon was spent exploring Namche Bazaar shops, monastery and Sherpa Museum. Everyone is looking forward to the expedition part of the trip now as they start to head up the Thame valley towards Kyajo Ri base camp.
Tomorrow the team will continue up to the village of Khunde (3840m).
