9th July 2024 - Heavy Snows Stop Summit Attempt

After returning to base camp for some rest days, the weather took a significant turn for the worse, with heavy snows coming in at all levels above ABC. The team waitied as long as they could, but eventually the decision was made to abandon their summit rotation and return to base camp. Today they will return to Osh.

3rd July 2024 - Re-Group at ABC

Robin and Ivan headed up towards Camp 3 today for their acclimatisation rotation. They are now on their way down to ABC to meet up with the rest of the team for some rest days. The weather started out nice, but winds soon picked up as they progressed up towards Camp 3. The final slope to Camp 3 had significant wind slab build up, so they made the decision to head back down from 6000m. The following pictures were sent by Robin while making the ascent this morning.

1st July 2024 - First Rotation

Robin messaged over the weekend to say that Kami, Paul, Gordon and Richard made it to C2 on Saturday. On Sunday Kami, Paul & Gordon reached Camp 3 in very poor weather conditions. Richard decided to stay at Camp 2, while they made their ascent. Robin turned back with Ivan who was unwell on the way up to Camp 2. They stayed at ABC for a couple more days and moved up to Camp 2 today. Daniel has decided to stay at ABC.

26th June 2024 - Yukhina Peak Climbed

Today the team have climbed Yukina Peak at 5137m as part of their acclimatisation, before heading out onto the glacier for their first rotation on Peak Lenin. Kami Temba has also arrived into ABC, so the team are now complete. They will make their final preparations over the next couple of days.

25th June 2024 - Team at ABC

The team have been acclimatising, enjoying the snow and having a refresher of skills at ABC.

24th June 2024 - Arrival at Base Camp

It was a very wet arrival to base camp on Saturday, which is unusual for this time of year, however the team have have explored their surroundings and made it safely to the bar where they are staying...On Sunday they went for the acclimatisation walk up onto the ridge leading to Petrovskogo Peak. Deep soft snow meant the team were just shy of where we normally walk to, but they managed to avoid getting soaking wet, so it was a posititve outcome as far as the team were concerned. Today the team have made the trek to ABC at 4200m.

19th June 2024 - Heading to Kyrgyzstan

Tomorrow the team depart for Kyrgyzstan. They will fly to Bishkek and then onward to Osh, where they will make their final preparations and checks, before heading to base camp.
