For over two decades we have been delivering Scottish Winter Skills courses. Whether you're taking your first steps into the winter environment or looking to advance your skills, we have the perfect course for you!
We have courses tailored for every skill level!
If you're new to the winter environment our courses are designed to build your confidence and equip you with the essential skills needed to safely explore the UK mountains during winter. Learn the fundamentals, from basic navigation to essential survival techniques, and prepare yourself for the adventure ahead.
If you're ready for the next challenge, our advanced courses are perfect for those aiming to step up to winter mountaineering or tackle more demanding routes. With expert guidance you'll master the techniques needed to climb harder routes, navigate challenging terrain, and conquer the winter environment.
Accommodation is included with all of our courses (on the Expedition Skills Course it will be hotel accommodation on the 1st night and the rest of the nights in tents)
We will send you a comprehensive kit list for the course, we will also intimate on the list what kit can be hired directly from us. We can have any hire kit ready and waiting for you at the hotel at the start of your course.
 | Introduction to Winter MountaineeringThis course is ideal for those with no previous winter hill walking or mountaineering experience. It provides the essential skills required for tackling UK mountains in winter conditions, and is the course to choose if you are interested in joining one of our expeditions to Mera Peak, Kazbek, Ecuador Volcanoes, Aconcagua, Lobuche, Island Peak or the Mexican Volcanoes |
| Winter Expedition CourseThis course is a great way to prepare for Himalayan and high altitude expeditions and is especially useful to those that have no winter camping experience, and gives a great introduction to fixed line training. |
 | Winter Mountaineering CourseOn our winter mountaineering course you will learn essential rope and belay skills and ascend some classic grade I and grade II gullies. This course is ideal for those looking to join one of our expeditions such as the Bolivian Peaks, Tien Shan Peaks, Kyajo Ri, Peak Lenin, Himlung Himal and Baruntse. |
