15th January

Summit Success for the team. Carrie sent a brief message with the limited comms she has at the moment to say Kent, Pete E, Jerry, Andres & Carrie made the summit today.  Jim and Sam reached 6500m and Jenny & Jeff made it to 6370m.

8th January

On 6th January we left Copiapo and drove to our first camp site Vallecito, a little oasis of green in the middle of nowhere. After a fantastic BBQ tea we settled down for the first night. The next day we went for our first acclimatisation walk then drove to the beautiful Laguna Santa Rosa (3800m). Today we walked up Siete Hermanas Peak which took about 7 hours and was a good chance to acclimatise further.

Over the next couple of days the team will continue to acclimatise on day hikes before moving to Ojos del Salado on Saturday.
