Double summit success on Ojos del Salado and Aconcagua!

16th February

Another successful summit of Aconcagua – Congratulations Ralf! A great way to round off the season with a double summit success for the last Adventure Peaks team of the season.

3rd February

Congratulations to the team on a successful summit of Ojos del Salado! After a pretty gruelling 12 hour ascent, Ralf made it to the summit with the guide. Jenny had to turn back half way as unfortunately she was hit hard by the altitude on the ascent. Fortunately with both the Bolivian team of brothers being guides, everything flowed well and Jenny was acommpanied down safely whilst Ralf was able to continue up.

There has been a lot of snow on Ojos this year and it’s quite a different mountain to usual with cold strong winds and soft snow making for difficult conditions. And there we were thinking Ojos was just meant to be the warm up!

The team are back down from Ojos now and staying in a hotel in Caldera, near Bahia Inglesa, before moving to the Adventure Peaks hotel tomorrow.  Time for a bit of rest before embarking on their next challenge – Aconcagua.

27th January

The team have been in touch to say that things are progressing well and they are sticking to the schedule. Having made it over 5000m today, they’re feeling good. The guides called back to their office and said that the weather looks promising to hold for Ojos so fingers crossed for the next few days!
