11th July: Update in from the leader, Martin. Yesterday we climbed from Argentiere via the ladders (good fun) and continued up to a snowy Lac Blanc for lunch. Great views of the Aiguille Verte, the Drus, the Grandes Jorasses, Mer de Glace, Mont Blanc etc. Fantastic weather, blue skies. Judged it right – got to Cham hotel just before thunderstorm! Rest day today, then back up to Brevent for final 5,000ft descent to Les Houches tomorrow.

6th July: Update in from the leader, Martin. Crossed Grand Col Ferret from Italy into Switz today – a lot more snow than usual gave it a real mountaineering feel. Passed Mont Dolent where Italy, France and Switzerland meet. Yesterday’s walk over Mont de la Saxe gave great views of theGrandes Jorasses and Dent du Geant with blue skies and snowy summits.

3rd July: The team have now arrived safely in Courmayeur having had to take a lower lever route today because of bad weather. There is still a lot of snow around especially higher up and the views on the first couple of days have been spectacular. Tomorrow they have a rest day in Courmayeur – a chance to dry out and explore the local area. The weather forecast is good for tomorrow and hopefully will continue good for a few days or even the rest of the circuit which would be nice! On leaving Courmayeur on Thursday they will head up to the Bonatti refuge as the Elena refuge is still closed. Everyone is going well.
